WhatsApp Setup as Support Channel

WhatsApp is the number one messenger in coverage in the world but only a limited number of businesses have access to official API. But for UseResponse team it's not an issue, so we have made the integration of WhatsApp along with  other messengers

WhatsApp integration is turned on manually for specific businesses, as billing is separate for this integration.


Note: This integration is not official. We don't guarantee 100% that it will be stable and that all sessions will be passed to your help center. Though it works in 99% of all requests, sometimes rescan of the QR code in settings could be required.


Steps to Setup WhatsApp

First of all, you need to contact our support so we setup a specific environment for you and enable the integration for your account. This is possible only for already paid licenses. We don't provide WhatsApp integration in trial accounts or for test periods as it works exactly like other messenger integrations that we officially support.

Once WhatsApp integration is activated, make the following procedures on your mobile phone:

  • Register new cell phone number for your business support or use your personal one;
  • Download WhatsApp application from Google Play or App Store;
  • Register in WhatsApp in the application and give the name of your business to the account with the logo of the account.

Then you need to set up WhatsApp in the widget and assign it with UseResponse account:

  • Go to Administration » Applications and enable WhatsApp;
  • In Administration » Support Channels click Options next to WhatsApp in the list;
  • You will see QR code that you need to scan with your mobile device in the WhatsApp application. Open the WhatsApp settings on the mobile device and select WhatsApp Web;
  • Once scanned, click Submit.

Your integration is ready to be used for providing customer support.


Note: we don't guarantee that this number cannot be blocked by WhatsApp Team.

Please use it on your own risk until official API goes live.
